State Board Authorizes Extension for Normandy Joint Executive Governing Board
On May 16th, the State Board of Education recertified the Joint Executive Governing Board (JEGB) for three years, effective July 1. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education staff conducted a review of the Normandy Schools Collaborative in the areas of academic achievement, culture and climate, improvement planning, educator effectiveness, and financial stability. Focus St. Louis Recognizes Normandy for 'What's Right' Honor
The Normandy Schools Collaborative has been awarded the Focus St. Louis 2017 What’s Right with the Region Award. The Collaborative was recognized in the category, Fostering Regional Cooperation, for having “brought entities together to create a new synergy and improve efficiency and effectiveness.” The Collaborative was honored May 11 along with other organizations and individuals working to improve life in the St. Louis area. Proposition N Passes! Thank You Normandy Community for Your Support!
Proposition N, the zero-tax-rate-increase bond proposal, was approved by voters in the April 4th election. The bond issue will provide $23 million to build a new school, new science/math labs and libraries at Jefferson and Washington Elementary schools, and improve the learning environments for students throughout the district. Stay tuned for opportunities to learn more about the plans for the new school and other improvements to come! Pearson Receives Outstanding New Superintendent Award
Dr. Charles Pearson, Normandy Superintendent of Schools, is among eight Missouri superintendents recognized by the Missouri Association of School Administrators (MASA) for outstanding performance as a new superintendent. Pearson received the award March 29 at the MASA Spring Conference. For more information, click here.

St. Louis Regional Business Council Awards $25K Grant to Normandy
The St. Louis RBC recently held a press conference to award the final round of grants to several small businesses and four school districts in North St. Louis County.
