We are #NormandyStrong! Welcome to the Normandy Schools Collaborative, the home of Viking Pride, located in St. Louis County, just a few miles northwest of the City of St. Louis.

Situated near Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, Interstates 70 & 170, the Collaborative is neighbors to the University of Missouri-St. Louis, Fortune 100 corporation Express Scripts, and historic neighborhoods like Glen Echo Park and Pasadena Hills.

The Normandy Schools Collaborative enrolls over 3,500 students in preschool through grade 12. To better address needs at the students’ critical areas of growth and development, the Collaborative offers full-time early childhood and kindergarten centers. Students in the elementary schools are focusing on the basics with Balanced Literacy curriculum, and increased rigor in writing and math skills. The Normandy 7th/8th Grade Center offers a team approach, gifted education, and chess club, among other extracurricular programs and services.

Normandy High School provides Career Pathways in entrepreneurship, performing arts, and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), offering students a specialized and targeted development plan to prepare them for life after graduation. High school students are also provided opportunities to take Advanced Placement (AP) courses. The Collaborative has also partnered with area colleges and universities to provide students to earn college credit in dual enrollment and dual credit courses.

To better address the needs of our students, the Collaborative partners with a variety of community organizations and agencies. For example, the Collaborative works with Beyond Housing on several initiatives and projects to support Normandy families to ensure all students are prepared to excel in and out of the classroom. Other agency partners include Wyman Center, Better Family Life, and Big Brothers Big Sisters -- all working in concert to ensure Normandy students excel.

The district encompasses unincorporated areas of St. Louis County and the following 24 municipalities (also known as the 24:1):

Normandy teachers, students and alumni embody a unique and deep sense of pride when it comes to the Collaborative -- and for good reason. Despite challenges, the Normandy Schools Collaborative continues to achieve:

  • Active and involved alumni who support the Collaborative with several endeavors including several scholarship programs for Normandy seniors.
  • An award-winning high school marching and jazz band who participated in the Auto Zone Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tenn.
  • Partnerships with local colleges and universities to provide dual enrollment & dual credit courses for high school students. Normandy is also providing internships for students through a collaboration with Centene Corporation.
  • Nationally recognized literary magazine, The View from Here, co-written & co-produced by students from Normandy 7-8th Grade Center and John Burroughs School.
  • Normandy graduates have made names for themselves in a variety of industries and professions, including media, engineering, education, athletics, and business.

     And the list goes on.

All professional staff members are fully certified by the Missouri Department of Education. Every school has a full-time, principal whose primary responsibility is to ensure students are receiving effective instruction and supports. The average length of tenure for teachers in the district is 15 years. Over half of the district's staff hold master's degrees.

Students in the district benefit from a strong and aggressive curriculum, nationally recognized academic programs, a full-range of extracurricular activities, a highly educated and motivated teaching force, low pupil/teacher ratios, and teams of specially trained counselors and social workers - all committed to enhancing each student's academic and personal growth.
